The 4x4 Center is a modern and clean facility that stays busy working year round on all kinds of cars, trucks, & SUV's. For the right person, we offer a much more exciting form of automotive work than most shops attract. While there is the regular vehicle maintenance that everyone needs, we also specialize in Off-Road builds and fabrications. We're seeking an experienced & motivated Automotive Technician to join our team.

• Organization, motivation, & industry awareness.
• Attention to detail.
  • Document time accurately & coherently.
  • Keep accurate time records (on computer time clock) by punching on appropriate work order & job line.
  • Perform work to the highest standard possible in a timely productive manner.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical skills.
  • Familiarity with windows based diagnostic tools.
  • Use information sources to help diagnose faults.
  • Use diagnostic flow charts to diagnose faults.
  • Use hand held & PC based scan tools to diagnose faults.
• Maintain a consistent 8 to 5 work schedule.
• Comprehensive tool box.

Common jobs this automotive technician will perform:

Repair of SUV’s & Trucks:

• Brakes & suspension
• Alignments
• Electrical diagnosis
• Drivability diagnosis
• Cooling system repair
• Vibration diagnosis
• Ring & pinions
• Fuel system diagnosis. Leak testing, pressure testing etc.
• Worn engine diagnosis. Compression testing. Leak down testing.
• Wiring harness repair.
• Electrical system testing. Ohms, volts, amps. Voltage drops, shorts etc.
• Sensor testing. Comparing known good values.
• Electrical diagnosis using flow charts.
• Charging system testing.
• Vermont State Inspections

Installation of suv & truck accessories such as:

• Aftermarket suspension systems
• Bumpers
• Electrical upgrades, lights, winches, split charge systems, etc.
• Regearing

Fabrication:

• Brackets
• Suspension components
