The Jeep Wrangler TJ was produced from 1996-2006 and is the body style that came after the square headlights of the YJ and precedes the new body style of the JK.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Front Drive Shafts

The front drive shaft in a Jeep Wrangler TJ is prone to failure, commonly in the center ball. Once these heat up, they squeak and squeal until they are replaced, and no amount of grease will make them happy.

Here is what we need to know to build a new drive shaft for your TJ:

  • Model: TJ, LJ (long wheelbase TJ), or Rubicon
  • Would you like greasable or non-greasable u-joints?
  • Measure for a preceise fit.
  • Do you want a new set of straps & bolts? We highly recomend you do, and retain the old ones as spares if needed.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Rear Drive Shafts

Order your drive shafts after performing all suspension changes to ensure you measure for the correct length. If you are experiencing a new vibration after installing your lift this often comes from the rear drive shaft. The vibration comes from the increased working angle of the u-joints. By upgrading from the standard shaft to a double cardan with slip yoke eliminator you ease the working angle of these u-joints which in most cases resolves the vibration.

  • Would you like greasable or non-greasable u-joints?
  • Double cardan or stock type shaft?
    • Remember a slip yoke eliminator is also required.
